Mrs. Allison Arends
Mrs. Ronald (Allison) Arends has been the accompanist for our junior high and high school choruses since the fall of 2010.
From the time she was five years old until she graduated from high school, she studied with Muriel Marshall, participating in numerous recitals and contests. She also studied with Professor Tim Shook at St John’s College in Winfield, Ks. and Dr. Eric Street at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Ks.
Over the years she has given piano and voice lessons, has been music director and taught K-8 music at St. John’s School in Buckley, taught high school chorus at Christ Lutheran High school as well as been accompanist for numerous groups and performances.
One of her other passions is writing music. She studies music composition at Illinois Wesleyan and has written numerous pieces for vocal and piano as well as instrumental. She has written two pieces for the PBL madrigals, one piece for the community band in Gibson City, several pieces for church choir, four Christmas shows and many pieces for soloists and small ensembles.
She lives outside of Melvin on a farm with her husband and dog Otis! She and her husband have two sons. Tyler attends Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin, and Trent lives in heaven.
